I saw some amazing colored pencil sketches in an art catalog today. It has me thinking. Maybe I should look at this medium a little more seriously instead of largely regarding it as glorified crayons. It’s certainly a medium I’m comfortable with.
Mara gave me a fucked up idea today. She wondered what it would sound like if you could combine alembic and Rickenbacker pickups. And she gave me her blessing to buy a Rickenbacker to find out. Hmmm. I’ll update if anything ever comes of this.
I talked to Mama today. Mara and I misunderstood her. The house loan isn’t going to be in her name, but her name will be on it, along with ours, for the first year. After that, they’ll take her name off and give us a lower interest rate. There was also another surprise. Paul Yale… Continue reading Misunderstanding
Well, CCB called mama today. We got the loan. Mama didn’t say, but I can only assume that it’s for the full $55,000. While I’ve only received one e-mail from Mama about it and only know a little, there’s one thing about it that troubles me already; for the first year the loan will be… Continue reading Got The Loan
Paul Yale called Mama today and told her that our house loan was a “slam dunk,” and that he would call her back in the afternoon to confirm it. But of course he didn’t call back, and we’re left wondering if he’s full of shit. We’ll see, I guess.
Well, we’re North Cove, picking up our first load of another week. We’ve had some good news, which I haven’t mentioned. Wade Ford approved the van. We paid $1,500 on it, and have to come up with another $2,500 by the 31st. It will be tight, but I think we can do it. They had… Continue reading Wade Ford Approved The Van
I talked to Billy at Wade Ford today. Apparently with $4,000 and our trade-in down and with Mama signing on the loan, too, he thinks we have the van. The only possible sticking point for Mara and I would be if they set our payments too high. I mean geez. We’re paying off 25% right… Continue reading Vans And Drug Tests
I talked to Ralph’s business manager, Billy, at Wade Ford today. He had some additional questions about our income. Apparently they’re actively pursuing financing for us. I’m supposed to call him again in the morning (Mama e-mailed and told me to call him back, that there was something important that he had forgotten to ask… Continue reading Wrangling With Wade Ford
Well, we didn’t hear anything from Wade ford today. We still haven’t heard anything from Paul Yale at CCB, either. I’ll give both of them until the end of the week. If we haven’t heard anything by then, I’ll assume that we’re not going to.
Mara and I went out and talked to Ralph Grindstaff at Wade Ford today about that 2003 Windstar van that we wanted. It didn’t go well. Basically, although we can easily afford that van, we just don’t have the credit. We were turned down. Ralph came up with another possibility, though; a 2001 Windstar for… Continue reading We Just Don't Have The Credit
