  Edith is listed in the 1930 US Federal Census as living on Fairview Street, Kings Mountain, North Carolina, in the residence of her parents, Rev. Robert Lattie and Winnie Chaney. She was 12 years old. Edith played piano in a number of churches as an adult. Obituary - Edith Millwood Gastonia - Edith Chaney Millwood, 92, of 416 N. Highland St., passed away Feb. 23, 2010, at Rehabilitation And Health Center of Gastonia. She was born Jan. 12, 1918, in Cleveland County, daughter of the late Rev. R.L. Chaney and the late Winnie Moss Chaney. Mrs. Millwood was a member of Westview Baptist Church for the past fifteen years where she was a pianist. She was also a past member and pianist at Holland Memorial Baptist Church for over twenty-five years. She was a faithful Christian and a devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed cooking for all of her friends and family. The family extends a special thank you to the staff at Rehabilitation And Health Center of Gastonia. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Bob Millwood; son, Joe Millwood; stepson, Johnny and Jimmy Millwood; brothers, Johnny, Robert and Grady Chaney; sisters, Dot Phillips, Lucille Gladden and Loretta Owens. Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Jack Robert Millwood and wife, Willy of Bessemer City, Tommy Millwood and wife, Ann of Dallas, Rev. Jerry Millwood and wife, Linda of Gastonia, David Millwood and wife, Donna of Kings Mountain; brother, Jack Chaney of Kings Mountain; sisters, Sue Rhea, Peggy Chaney, and Sherry Short all of Kings Mountain; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Greene Funeral Service - West Chapel in Gastonia. A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at Westview Baptist Church in Gastonia, officiated by the Revs. Jerry Millwood and Casey Short. Interment will be in Bessemer City Memorial Cemetery.
