I figure an update is in order. We just got back from the car show. For the record, it was called Mazdapalooza, and was held in the parking lot at Quaker Steak and Lube in Clearwater. There were a lot of cars, and a lot of people, there. It started raining just before we got there, though, and became a torrential downpour shortly after that. We got soaked just jotting between the two awnings out there, which were about fifteen feet apart. It was raining that hard. The rain kind of put a damper on things, but I think most of the people there still enjoyed it.
Eventually the rain stopped and they handed out the trophies. Katie won first place in the Mazda 6 division. Cool! She kind of under-reacted, but I think she’s psyched about it. From what I heard from some of the other people who won trophies, though, I think as soon as they win one trophy, they’re thinking about where to take their cars to win another one. Hehe.
I had a good time. We hung out with Jennifer, ate a light meal, and had some good conversation. I was as happy as ever to have a crowd of people to watch. It’s always fun to watch them swimming around in the proverbial fish bowl, interacting and wiggling about. Some of them were rather colorful.
Anyway, I had a good time. Congratulations to Katie on her first place win! I’ll even fore-go ragging her about Mazdas for the rest of the day.
