This song began, I believe, with me tinkering around with a timpani sound on my Korg M1 keyboard. As with a lot of great ideas, it just sort of happened on its own.
The “Anduan” in the title comes from the capital city of a fictional country called Borrelli, which is a part of my Arumaea series. Long story short, Anduan falls to enemy troops. The Queen barely escapes, and is secreted out as the city burns. At one point in the song, I’ve always imagined her looking back down from a ridge over the burning city, knowing that she might never see it again.
Anyway, that’s the stuff that goes through my head. You’re welcomed to conjure up your own.
